A Shortage of quality Christmas turkeys?

Food Blog — By kent on November 12, 2009 at 11:27 pm

This Sky news article made us laugh this week.

Apparently there is going to be a shortage of quality Christmas turkeys this year. Delve a little deeper into the story and we find that the source is Kelly’s Turkeys. Kelly’s are undoubtedly fabulous farmers and they have built an amazing business, however their Christmas turkeys are rather expensive - mmmmmmmm, wonder why this story hit the headlines in a recessionary year?

Farm, Park & Wild’s TurkeyCam allows you too see our Christmas Turkeys live from the farm (during the hours of daylight anyway, the budget couldn’t run to infa-red technology). Please have a look and you can be confident in the provenance of your Christmas Turkey.

    Hi Jeremy,
Thanks for your comment and really pleased you like the site. Regarding prices these have to be measured like for like. The Kelly’s 5kg BRONZE bird, home delivered is £72.31, our 5.5kg BRONZE bird, home delivered is £68.00. Our Norfolk Black is more then this but it’s a rare breed, as far as I can tell Kelly’s don’t do a Norfolk Black. Regarding the webcam we switch it off at night so as to not waste electricity…please have a look in the morning and feel free to email me anytime. kent@farmparkwild.co.uk.
    Kindest regards
    Kent
